This is a simplified tax regime that was developed by the federal government. It aims to serve micro and small businesses (known by the acronym MEs and EPPs). They must have a turnover of up to R$ 4.8 million per year, whose CNAE (National Classification of Economic Activities) is in accordance with the list authorized by law and which they do not owe any government agencies. Many activities are included in the framework allowed by this system, which simplifies and reduces the tax burden owed by many businesses.
